Monday Mix Up

After work today i went for a quick trick with Henry who turns out lives just down the road from me. The weather was crap and packing in fast so we shot down to Milford and tricked around the carpark for a bit.
Henrys riding a Leeder which he copped from the states. Pretty dope whip and check it kid can bar spin a 700c! DOPE.

After a quick change of bars and putting my 700c on i kept it Shore and met Kenny at Smales Farm where we rode a small route ive been wanting to do for a while.

In Short its a real nice route with a good variety of up hill and some decent downhill bursts.
I snagged a puncture in Albany so whilst i waited for my 650 to get dropped off Kenny built an AKFIXED hotdog and made a new friend called DIDIK, who works at the Gas station and gave him a pro carbon cycling spare bag out of the lost property whilst pocketing the $4.30 that was inside it.

This birds got a sweet ROTA-LIFE hoodie (Hagan i know you'll appreciate this)

On the way back we thougth we'd spice things up a bit (kinda like a marrige when its just not what it used to be) and play a new game where you spin as fast as you can and try and get the fastest speed as you ride past the "YOUR SPEED" signs. Kenny schooled me and sent me back to primary when he clicked 60km/h.
Might try and look at making it a regular ride if anyones keen your welcome to come ride next week.

Flight Number: AKF1X3D

Last night after dropping off a few of the cages people ordered Adam, Ken, Sam a.k.a Monty a.k.a KOOL and myself braved the cold and got some spin going.
We left mobil K road and made our way to New Market where we followed Manukau road out towards Onehunga.
From there we went over the old bridge and rode through Mangere bridge township.
After having a brief stop for water, we continued along Puhinui Road and made our way to Great south road where we hauled our way along empty streets back into the city.
Decent effort considering the conditions, not too mention a decent pace which my legs are feeling this morning.
Below is a rough idea of the route we did.
Oh and the new cages were dope. Far exceeding my expectations.

AKland spoiled its occupants with a pretty swell day today. We were treated with blue skys and a cool/crisp arctic breeze, perfect conditions for riding.
Seizing the day a few of us went for a lazy wax through Ponsonby then out towards Point Chev and Westmere where we bombed a couple of hills then
made our way to unitec for a spot of tom foolery.
Kenny's been acting all grown up now since he has a beard and is over the fixie buzz and has taken up unicycling.
The higlight of the day hands down had to be when we popped out to go look at a frame for Meiches buddy and the dude goes on about how little money you put into fixie's and how they dont cost much.......
the irony is he was saying this to Conrad ( has a gizzzilion dollar bike).

ill let the pictures do the talking.

A bunch of us popped down to britomart today to check out the Redbull City Scramble and support the ILABB boys who have been tapped producing the graphics for the competing bikes.

Conrad bought the Vigorelli out for the occasion (caused a few peeps to froth at the mouth), but with what started out a bluebird day eventually turning squally with the wind picking up and blowing the new vigorelli over.......twice.

Recount of the Mount

Making the most of the long weekend i squeezed the bikes in and rocked down to the Mount.
In between coffee shops I caught up with Jake, Alex and the boys from THANKS.

Photobucket

The boys have some steezy bikes and some equally jazzy tricks to go with.
With the fixed scene rapidly expanding down those ways its gona be dope too see what comes out of the wood work and if next time your around those ways pop in, say yo and check the swagga they got in shop.
